European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2008

The European Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest is run annually by the GDT (Gesellschaft Deutscher Tierfotografen) in Germany.

The winner of this year’s competition is David Maitland from Great Britain with his disturbing photograph of bushmeat being prepared for a food market. Other winning images include a mountain hare caught in a snow drift, an alligator under the stars, and elephants in the twilight.
