Sampson to make West End debut

Britain’s Got Talent winner George Sampson has signed up to make his West End stage debut in a hip-hop musical.

The 14-year-old from Warrington will appear in street dance show Into The Hoods at the Novello Theatre from 4 August for a four-week stint.

"The show is funky and young and I love the music in it. I can’t wait to get dancing on that stage," he said.

A reworking of Stephen Sondheim’s musical Into The Woods, the show features hits by Gorillaz and Prince.

Sampson has just completed the sell-out Britain’s Got Talent tour.

He won £100,000 and the chance to perform at this year’s Royal Variety Performance when he won the ITV reality show in May.
