Microsoft Still Hiring for Peter Jackson’s Halo
Creative director listing reveals details for non-Bungie Halo project.
Just because Microsoft isn’t talking about them — like, at all — doesn’t necessarily indicate that the several upcoming Halo games are in trouble. In fact, if you follow game industry job postings (such as this one at Gamasutra), you’ve probably noticed that Microsoft is seeking a creative director for "a new experience in the Halo universe". See? They’re working on something.
Listed under the responsibilities section of the job posting are such tasks as "Partner with key Hollywood talent to collaboratively craft a masterful game experience," and "Collaborate with game play designers, story writers, game writers, and said external luminary to deliver on a unique game in the Halo universe." If it looks like Peter Jackson, and it sounds like Peter Jackson, it probably is Peter Jackson.
If this is indeed a post for Jackson’s enigmatic Halo project, then it’s somewhat unsettling that they’ve yet to hire a creative director, since we first reported on that in April. Surely the only snag has been the extremely high standards to which applicants are being held, right? Right?
Peter Jackson.
